Connect Slack with Verabase
Deploy your Verabase AI agents directly into Slack to support your team or customers in channels and direct messages.
What it does
The Slack deployment channel connects your selected Verabase AI support agent directly to your corporate Slack workspace. The agent listens to channels it is invited to and replies to customer or internal staff inquiries, referencing your connected knowledge base sources automatically.
Data Flow & Permissions
Verabase utilizes standard Slack Webhook APIs and events to sync communications securely:
- Data Read: User messages and context threads mentioning the bot (`@Verabase`) in joined channels, as well as direct message conversations.
- Data Written: Agent formulated responses posted directly to the Slack message thread or direct message channel.
- Sync Frequency: Real-time. User message events are forwarded via Slack's Event API, prompting immediate response generation.
Scope & Limits
- Reading Scopes: The bot does not read conversations in channels unless it has been explicitly invited, and only reads messages where it is directly mentioned.
- Formatting: Slack message formatting supports standard Slack markdown (Mrkdwn), links, block layout kits, and basic bullet listings. Complex HTML iframe embeddings are not supported.
- Rate Limits: Appears as a Slack app, subject to standard Slack web API rate limits.
